Unbiased Actiderm HD Skin-Sync Mineral Liquid Foundation in Pompidou!

Hi all, thanks for stopping by! Some of you may recognise the brand "Actiderm" but for those of you who don't, do continue to read!

(Ident property of Actiderm.co.uk)

Disclaimer: I am not an Actiderm ambassador and I am in no way affiliated with Laboratoire Actiderm Cosmeceuticals in any shape or form. All of my Actiderm products were purchased with my own money!

Actiderm originates from France and specialise in skin care. Eventually more products were released, including make-up, bodycare and slimming cosmetics. Actiderm products are distributed in the United Kingdom and there will soon be a launch of products in the United States of America!

How did I learn of Actiderm?
I noticed several ambassadors promoting the products through the use of social media marketing and I found myself browsing the official web store and conversing with several ambassadors.

I was rather dubious about buying anything and the whole sales process was remarkably similar to Younique/NuSkin/Forever Living - lets not go there, or shall we? I don't particularly enjoy being spammed with messages about becoming a "presenter" or buying deals which cost ridiculous prices....who do you think I am? Mrs earn a lot, spend a lot? No, I do understand the job makes great business for self employed workers/those who need extra income on the side. However- some ambassadors need to improve on their customer communication skills as the potential buyer needs to feel encouraged, not pushed into spending their hard earned money! Inform them of the benefits and why you're better than your competitors as they may decide to purchase something when they are properly convinced it is a worthy investment.

Luckily, I came across a lovely Actiderm employee called Victoria Ridgway and she helped me make an appropriate decision regarding my first ever Actiderm purchase by demonstrating a welcoming attitude and a no obligation service to me as a customer.  I have noticed that many Actiderm ambassadors show a clear understanding of a customer's requirements and are able to provide you with detailed images (swatches) and price lists. There are no hidden costs as the ambassador will discuss mailing with you before purchase and you can decide if you'd prefer tracked/signed for, first or second class postage.

The first product I bought from Actiderm was the "Phyto" lotion to reduce scars and stretchmarks on your skin. I have also purchased the "Marine Collagen" lotion, the Thermo/Lipo slimming kits and 3 shades of the HD liquid foundation.

All of these products were satisfactory excluding the foundations. The reason being was the colour choice. I first purchased the shade "Champs Eleese" and eventually went with "Pigalle" (lightest available at the time) and "Montmartre" - sadly, all were re-sold! So what was the root cause of my Acti-Foundation woes? The colours. Yep. Sadly, they were all far too dark for my fair complexion and unfortunately the concealers appeared the same and still do!

All looked bleak until ambassador Victoria inboxed me to inform me of a new lighter shade released. I am honestly not surprised of the new addition as I was told that many other customers had requested a shade for lighter skins.

I ordered "Pompidou" which cost £11.50 (excluding delivery costs) and received the item after a few working days.

The packaging is fantastic for decorating your dressing table and many of you will be pleased that it comes with a pump dispenser!

What Actiderm say about the product: (Sourced from Actiderm.co.uk)

Actiderm Skincare: High Definition Liquid Foundation

HD Liquid effortlessly covers uneven skin tone, blemishes and redness. Full coverage, acne taming formula to perfect and protect skin. Great for all skin types.
Key Ingredients :Green Tea, Calendula, Chamomile, Cornflower, Linden, Vitamin E and St. John’s Wort.

(Sorry for the poor quality here!)

The foundation contains 15ml of product and there are currently 8 shades available. I am a little worried it won't stretch far - I only use one pump on average (with any foundation) but the bottle appears a lot smaller in person than it does the pictures! Still, we shall see! One of the main factors for me deciding to re-purchase the foundation is the acne fighting properties. The formula contains natural ingredients including St. John's Wort which means you can wear the foundation, guilt free! Of course, I do not advise anyone sleeps in it!

Now, whilst this is a reasonably light shade, it still won't be light enough for extremely fair people. Upon blending onto my skin I noticed it definitely had warm tones in - think NW (neutral warm) Mac! I can get away with warmer light tones to some degree because I am the sort of fair person who tans easily and has a mixed background . I feel that very fair skinned beauties should consider mixing this with a white foundation, should they want to try this out!

Regarding the texture, I feel this would work on all skin types as it has a
non-drying formula with a demi-matte finish that can be set with powder, if you require it. It spreads smoothly onto my skin and my nose which has a tendency to look cakey with  makeup applied on it.

Whilst applying this foundation for the first time I used my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and the Real Techniques Beauty Blender to smooth it out. I applied a small amount of my new Soap and Glory green corrector/Amazing Cosmetics or Kryolan Dermacolor concealer on my blemishes and set with my (sometimes I'll use Benefit Hello Flawless) Mac Studio Fix Powder!

Actiderm regard this foundation as full coverage but as someone who has scars, (and sadly a few blemishes) I would have to disagree with that statement. It definitely delivers  medium coverage but if you prefer a sheer finish then you'll likely find this too heavy. Like many who have blemishes, I use a small amount of concealer once the foundation has set - luckily it does not dry far too quickly and concealer/powder apply well on top of it!

Pros:
Offers medium/build-able coverage
Hygienic easy to use pump dispenser
Spreads evenly onto skin
Anti Acne ingredients
Non-Cakey finish
Reasonably priced in comparison with competitors

Cons:
There could be more of the product
The fairest shade is not suitable for very fair, pink toned complexions.
Not available in stores, purchase online or through an ambassador.

Overall, the pros outweigh the cons for me. I am likely to purchase this foundation again as not many competitors have released reasonably priced acne reducing formulas in a foundation!
